Eight Things to do as a Newbie

Welcome to Wintercrest! We’re so happy you’ve decided to join us! Here’s everything you need to know to start your adventure.

1. Find a Place to Live and Set Your Home

Use /rtp to teleport randomly through the build world until you find the perfect spot.
Set your home with /sethome so you can return anytime using /home.
Don’t worry about dying while exploring - you won’t lose your items!

2. Claims & Land Protection

Wintercrest does not allow grief of any kind, all builds are protected and grief will be rolled back, claiming is only an optional piece of protection!
Use /claim to protect your land and /claimsettings to manage permissions for friends.
Claiming land costs claim tokens - you earn 100 tokens per hour of play.
As you rank up by voting, claiming becomes cheaper!

3. Visit Warp Start for Free Items

Store your belongings in a chest first so you have an empty inventory.
Go to /warp start and speak to the NPC for a one-time starter kit.
This is your only chance to get these items, so don’t miss it!

4. Explore All Our Worlds

Wintercrest has multiple worlds for building, gathering resources, and exploring.
Use /map to see all available worlds and teleport to them.

5. Money and Jobs

Join a job with /jobs (mining, hunting mobs, etc.) to earn money.
Check your balance anytime with /bal.
Spend your money at player shops found via /warps.

6. Vote to Rank Up

Voting supports the server and unlocks better ranks for you.
Higher ranks mean more homes, more concurrent jobs, and other perks.
You will also receive free keys for voting! Hooray!

7. Join Our Discord

Get announcements, share builds, ask questions, and meet other players.
Use /discord in-game.
After joining, link your Minecraft account: Type /link in-game to get a 4-digit code. Enter the code in the #link channel on Discord. You’ll then have access to all our public channels.

8. Need Help? Just Ask!

Ask questions in chat - our community and staff are always happy to help.
Contact staff privately with /msg, leave a note with /mail, or post in #ask-a-staff on Discord.
